How old are you now and what age did you start TKD?
I’m 10 years old. I started TKD when I was 5 as a Taeki!
Name one or two of your heroes. What makes them heroic to you? (Does not have to be someone in TKD)
I don’t have a specific hero yet, but to me a hero is someone who thinks and cares about other people.
What are your hobbies?
I like to play video games. I also love to draw and create comic books. I enjoy listening to music and playing the piano.
Name one of your accomplishments outside of TKD.
One of my fun accomplishments is teaching myself how to play a song from one of my favorite TV shows, Steven Universe, on the ukulele.
What’s one silly fact about you?
One silly fact about me is that I can wiggle my ears!
What are some of your favorite subjects in school?
Math and Science are my favorite subjects.
Finish this sentence “I would love to be (name cartoon character) because ______”
I would love to be Flash because his superpower is speed.
Tell us about a peak moment in TKD, one that you are especially proud of and will never forget
One of my proud moments in TKD was when I was training for my Black Belt test. It was memorable because there were many challenges and it was tough. But, I was able to get through it and not quit. In the end, I was very happy and proud to earn my Black Belt.
What is your favorite TKD move or form? What do you like about it?
My favorite TKD form is Taebek. It’s a 3rd Degree Black Belt form. The movements are simple and quick. Overall the form looks pretty cool. I really enjoy learning this form.
What are 5 adjectives your friends and family would use to describe you?
Amazing, creative, funny, smart, and “a brat” ( by my sister, Lauren).
If you could have any virtue, what would it be and why?
Patience. I always want to hurry. I need to learn to wait.
What are three of your favorite foods?
Kalbi (Korean BBQ), chips (except the cheesy kind), and tacos.
What kind of music do you listen to?
Currently, I enjoy listening to the soundtrack from the broadway musical “Hamilton”. I also like pop music.
What is something that few people know about you?
Only few people know that I can do the splits.
What advice would you give a white belt who wants to get his/her black belt someday too?
Work hard, do your best, and never give up!
Lastly, share one goal in life you would like to achieve someday.
One goal in life I would like to achieve someday is to create my own video game!
